Customers often inquire about the size of vehicle needed for their move. At the Apex Moving Company we offer a choice of trailer or truck so that you can select the most economical vehicle for your move. We recommend that you use a trailer if you are moving a two bedroom apartment or less. Our trailers will actually hold a typical 3 bedroom apartment. However, the savings in using a trailer are usually offset by the additional load time needed to pack your belongings more tightly.
If you have more than a 2 bedroom apartment and the distance between the load site and the unload site is 15 minutes or less, it is not very critical if you choose a truck or trailer. In this case, you can take multiple trips and the savings associated with using a trailer will typically offset the additional cost associated with the travel time.
If you have more than a 2 bedroom apartment and the distance between the load site and the unload site is more than 15 minutes, we recommend that you use a truck. Our trucks have roughly the same interior volume as the largest U-Haul that you can rent. (U-Haul lists their largest truck as 26 ft.) They are large enough to typically handle a 2100 square foot house in one trip.
If you are moving from a storage unit which is 10 ft x 15 ft or smaller, then we recommend a trailer. For larger storage units, we recommend a moving truck.
